Frequently asked questions.
What should I expect for a first appointment?
For the first appointment, you will be asked to fill in the new client forms. Then you will be escorted to the treatment room. We will do a standing postural evaluation. During that time you will discuss your health history. The John Barnes Myofascial Therapy Approach, is multifaceted, expect the unexpected and be open to something different!
What do I wear?
If you are a woman please bring either a two-piece bathing suit or sports bra and running shorts to change for evaluation and treatment session. If you are a man, loose shorts are appropriate. This allows you to have movement and stretching within the session.
Do you work with children?
Yes, only with the parent and child's consent. If the child is under 16 the parent must be present.
Do you take insurance?
As a massage therapist I do not take insurance but will gladly create an invoice for you to submit with your providers prescription.
What if I need to cancel or am running late?
24-hour notice for a cancellation policy is upheld. This allows for the week to be planned properly. If there is no notice the payment for the full amount is charged or the gift card or package for that appointment is considered null and void. For late appointments, the charge remains the same and stop will not adjust.
Do you have gift cards?
Yes, I can provide a card for the gift certificates. If it is purchased with a promotion, the promotional rate may have an expiration. The value of the gift card is good for a year after purchase.
Is your office or massage table wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the office is accessible for a wheelchair. MFR works with the body in all its positions. If you are unable to transfer you to the table there are many techniques to use in the sitting position.
